824. A Ballad of Trees and the Master

By Sidney Lanier

INTO the woods my Master went,
Clean forspent, forspent.
Into the woods my Master came,
Forspent with love and shame.
But the olives they were not blind to Him; 5
The little gray leaves were kind to Him
The thorn-tree had a mind to Him
When into the woods He came.

Out of the woods my Master went,
And He was well content. 10
Out of the woods my Master came,
Content with death and shame.
When Death and Shame would woo Him last,
From under the trees they drew Him last:
’T was on a tree they slew Him—last, 15
When out of the woods He came.

It was a great trip. Josh was a little long in the face as you can see. BUt he was all smiles by the end of my week there.I came back refreshed having spent time with my little brother, had no agenda to maintain and spent some decent time in the Word, Genesee Diary and finished the DaVinci Code.

Billionaire Bruce Wayne is jetting home via Lufthansa airlines, presently in the air for about an hour after leaving Frankfurt. There is much to report. The work continues so Dick Grayson has stayed on in his undiclosed location in the middle east. Bruce was given a 30 minute prepaid card for the internet by a lovely Lufthansa customer service person so he is able to make this brief post while in the air. Dick Grayson is doing well. He is his usual lighthearted, witty, loveable self. Those qualities are pratially why Bruce Wayne took the youngster into his opulent mansion in the beginning. The comraderie and friendship has only grown stronger over the years. More detail when Bruce is again secure on terra ferma in Canada.
